In a publication, images and texts are called to coexist, to dialogue and to mutually compete for prominence. The visual discourse flows, adjusting to rhythms and cadences, maintaining graphic coherence, establishing reading patterns, hierarchies and codes that make the experience of turning pages easier and more interesting. What I like most about laying out a book, a catalogue or a pamphlet is making a lot of decisions that, however, result in a sort of invisibility or transparency of the design, facilitating the encounter, in the best conditions, between the publication and the reader. Clients such as Barcelona City Council, the Picasso Museum or Catalunya TV have allowed me to taste the small delights of the meticulous and patient work of typography and composition.
